Macworld 2010 Announces First Feature Presentations: David Pogue and Leo Laporte

Macworld Conference & Expo 2010

FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Macworld 2010 will feature presentations by David Pogue, author and personal technology columnist for The New York Times, and Leo Laporte, host of “MacBreak Weekly,” “The Tech Guy,” and the TWiT netcast network, that offer insight, performances and conversation about the issues of the day for Mac and technology enthusiasts, IDG World Expo, owner of Macworld 2010, announced today. Macworld 2010, the world’s premier event singularly focused on the Apple products platform, is scheduled to take place February 9 - 13, 2010, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

“I am thrilled to be part of Macworld 2010 as the event embarks on a new era”

David Pogue, one of the most influential journalists in the technology space, takes center stage to open Macworld 2010 with a Feature Presentation entitled “Late Night with David Pogue” on Thursday, February 11, at 10:30 am PT. A Macworld favorite for many years known for combining insightful humor and creativity, Pogue will inform, entertain and generally geek out with the Mac masses in his irreverent style in this “midmorning late-night talk show” that will combine song parodies, surprise guests and jokes.

In addition, tech industry legend Leo Laporte will be the new host of Macworld Live!, Macworld’s annual onsite talk show, on Friday, February 12, at 2:00 pm PT. Macworld Live! will feature news of the day, exciting guests and plenty of surprises as it returns to San Francisco. As a host of some of the most popular podcasts in the world and an Emmy award winner for his work on The Site, there is no one better suited to fill the Macworld Live! host chair than Leo Laporte.

“I am thrilled to be part of Macworld 2010 as the event embarks on a new era,” said Leo Laporte. “Macworld has always been an important meeting place for the Apple community to gather each year, not only to see and try the coolest new technologies, but also to make connections, discuss the state of the industry and learn from each other. Macworld attendees are some of the smartest, most passionate and creative people in the world and I look forward to joining them in tackling current events in a fun, funny and no-holds-barred venue. I can’t wait to see what happens.”

Additional feature presentations, speakers and conference content will be announced in the coming weeks.
