PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Michael Gudinski, Founder and Chairman of the Australian Mushroom Group of Companies, will deliver a keynote within the International Indie Summit at MIDEM 2010 on Tuesday 26 January, which coincides with the official national day of Australia. The 44^th edition of MIDEM will be held from 24 to 27 January 2010 in Cannes.

Promoter, publisher, producer and label boss, Michael Gudinski is widely recognised as one of the most important figures in the history of the Australian music industry. This successful industry entrepreneur, who among many other achievements is responsible for Kylie’s Minogue’s global success, entered the music business in 1972 with the creation of the largest independent record label in Australia, Mushroom Records. He then developed a whole music group, which responds to the major challenges of today’s music industry: how to diversify and maximize revenue streams as an independent.

With exceptional foresight he developed his interest in the touring industry and created The Frontier Touring Company in 1979 which has become the leading tour promoter in Australasia (for acts like Justin Timberlake, Garbage, Aerosmith…). Frontier has played a fundamental role in the music industry across three decades and celebrates its 30^th Anniversary this year.

Michael Gudinski has been the recipient of many awards throughout his successful 35 years in the industry. He won the prestigious JC Williamson Award (the Australian live entertainment sector’s most coveted trophy) this summer.
