NASHVILLE, Tenn.--()--Healthcare Management Systems, Inc. ® (HMS) announced today that it was selected by Crittenden Regional Hospital (CRH) to supply a full suite of financial and ancillary clinical healthcare technology solutions. The new HMS system will provide much needed integration for the 152-bed, Joint Commission-accredited acute care hospital in West Memphis, Ark., and will also move them closer to an electronic health record (EHR) for their patients.
“With HMS as our partner, we have one vendor for all of our needs”
CRH had been working with an older, financials-only hospital information system and found that, especially in light of the forthcoming EHR requirements mandated by the recent American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), they were in need of an enterprise-wide solution that would grow with them.
“With our obsolete information system, we were looking for a true partner to take us into the new world of EHRs,” says Jamie Carter, chief executive officer for Crittenden Regional Hospital. “After performing our due diligence for almost a year, HMS came out on top as the most logical and affordable choice.”
CRH is looking forward to the on-demand, up-to-the-minute access to information offered by their new and more advanced system that will allow for more timely patient care decisions.
“Patient safety is of utmost importance to us,” says Carter. “We are also committed to further strengthening our bottom line to stay competitive in our urban market and using advanced clinical solutions to improve our quality indicators.
“With HMS as our partner, we have one vendor for all of our needs,” concludes Carter.
“HMS is pleased to have been selected by Crittenden Regional Hospital to be their partner in bringing advanced technology to clinicians and their patients in the community,” says Mike Freeman, senior vice president of sales for HMS. “Our integrated solution will better enable the hospital to provide quality healthcare with state of the art systems now and into the future to help poise the hospital for meaningful use of EHRs under the ARRA.”
The new HMS system will go live at Crittenden Regional Hospital in October 2009.
