ST. LOUIS--()--LaBarge, Inc. (NYSE Amex: LB) has been awarded a $6.1 million contract from BAE Systems to continue to produce electronic assemblies for the Advanced Gun System (AGS) for the first two of three anticipated DDG 1000 Zumwalt destroyers that will be built for the U.S. Navy.
The DDG 1000 is tailored for land attack and littoral dominance, and will operate as an integral part of joint and combined expeditionary forces. The AGS is expected to provide firepower against a wide range of littoral and inland targets, as well as highly advanced gunfire capabilities for anti-surface warfare.
The Company expects this latest award will continue production on the AGS program at its Huntsville, Ark., facility through December 2009.
