ZyXEL Introduces High Performance Mobile WiMAX USB Device Powered by Sequans

ZyXEL’s new device, the MAX-507 USB dongle, is state-of-the-art, and delivers the highest performance yet achieved in a Mobile WiMAX USB device, due to Sequans’ unique mimoMAX™ technology. The SQN1210 is the industry’s first Mobile WiMAX chip to integrate baseband and triple band RF in a single die. In addition to the marked performance improvement enabled by the industry’s highest level of integration, the SQN1210 features Sequans’ patent-pending mimoMAX™ technology, which combines a maximum likelihood decoder on the downlink with dual transmit channels on the uplink, a feature unique to Sequans that enables uplink MIMO, greatly increasing the link budget, which can be used to nearly double cell coverage and/or lower the power consumption and cost of mobile devices. ZyXEL’s implementation of Sequans’ technology has allowed it to deliver a Mobile WiMAX USB dongle that leads the industry in high performance and low cost.
