Optical Networking Expert to Discuss Metro Carrier Ethernet and WDM Optical Transport

CHATSWORTH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MRV COMMUNICATIONS, INC., today announced that Chen Genossar, International General Manager for MRV, will present on the topic of integrating Metro Carrier Ethernet and WDM optical transport at the WDM & Next Generation Optical Networking conference. MRV is a leading networking company with a full line of packet-optical transport (POTS), carrier Ethernet, 40G networking and out-of-band networking products.

The WDM & Next Generation Optical Networking conference will be held June 22-25, 2009 at the Nice Acropolis in Nice, France. With more than 500 senior professionals, 80 speakers and 30 exhibitors, the event is Europe's largest conference and exhibition for the optical networking industry.

Genossar will present as part of the “Packet Optical Transport Networking” (POTN) track on day two of the conference, which will cover POTN technologies used for integrating next generation carrier packet services with optical solutions. Genossar’s presentation will examine the ways that POTS-based networks can help carriers to meet increased customer demand for high-bandwidth, flexibility and simple management, while saving CAPEX and OPEX.

Genossar is the General Manager of MRV International where he manages research and development and sales on Metro Ethernet and optical networking products and technologies. His 10-year experience with MRV includes working with standards bodies in these areas. Prior to MRV, Genossar worked in R&D at Intel. Genossar holds a masters degree in Computer Communication from Technion University in Israel.
