HOUSTON--()--With demand for electricity expected to increase 26% by 2030 according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), the power generation industry faces enormous change. To address this challenge, TradeFair Group is launching FuturePOWER Conference & Exhibition, to provide a pan-industry venue that covers critical topics, from competing fuel sources and new technologies to economic, regulatory and environmental policies. FuturePOWER will be co-located with the 12th Annual ELECTRIC POWER Conference & Exhibition, at the Baltimore Convention Center, May 18 – 20, 2010.
“We are very pleased that FuturePOWER will be co-locating with ELECTRIC POWER”
“With the support of the GenCo Alliance, partnership with POWER magazine and co-location with ELECTRIC POWER, we are confident FuturePOWER will offer an unrivaled, senior-level forum for generating companies to address cross-industry solutions to future power needs,” said Sean Guerre, president of TradeFair Group.
FuturePOWER is directed to executives and senior managers who are responsible for future planning, business development, asset management, fleetwide generation, compliance and risk management at electric utilities and generating companies. Participants will also include EPCs, OEMs, venture capital firms, consultants and federal, state and local government agencies. As there is general agreement in the industry that no single solution will meet our future power needs, the program will cover all viable strategies and tactics that can lead to a balanced generation and delivery portfolio.
FuturePOWER will address the most pressing questions facing power producers, including: How will this additional electricity be generated and delivered? Who will build and own the plants and the transmission lines? Who will determine where transmission lines are located? How do we reconcile environmental impacts? How much will electricity cost in the future? Who will be the winners and losers of pending renewable portfolio standards and carbon legislation? What’s the role of the federal government in future resource planning and power grid modernization? Where does coal fit into the nation’s energy future? When will the nuclear renaissance begin? How will the industry pay for all these very expensive construction programs?
“We are very pleased that FuturePOWER will be co-locating with ELECTRIC POWER,” said Hunter Jones, ELECTRIC POWER Show Director. “This new co-location enhances our value proposition to attendees, exhibitors and sponsors, and further reinforces our position as the leading conference for the power generation industry.”
