WASHINGTON--()--The Genetics Policy Institute (GPI) announced today that Bernard Siegel, founder and executive director of GPI, will provide a policy address titled “Creating a Positive Policy, Regulatory and Societal Framework to Advance Stem Cell Research” at the plenary session of the International Stem Cell Meeting in conjunction with ILSI-BioMed 2009. The presentation will take place on Monday, June 15, 2009 at 12:30-1:00 pm local time, at the Dan Panorama Hotel, Tel Aviv, Israel.

Other speakers at the plenary session include Shimon Peres, President of the State of Israel, and Dr. Rudolf Jaenisch, Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research, MIT, who is a charter member of the GPI Science Advisory Board.

Bernard Siegel, J.D., is the founder and full-time executive director of the nonprofit Genetics Policy Institute (GPI) based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He is the founder and the co-chair of the World Stem Cell Summit series of global conferences and editor-in-chief of the World Stem Cell Report. He also serves as the co-chair of the Governmental Affairs Committee of the International Society for Stem Cell Research.
