WHAT:

Nintendo offers music teachers an up-close, interactive look at Wii Music™, its one-of-a-kind music software, during an annual gathering of MENC: The National Association for Music Education. Throughout the organization’s Eastern Division Conference, held March 12-14 in Providence, Rhode Island, attendees will enjoy live demonstrations of Wii Music and learn how its engaging mix of instruments, music tutorials, and wireless jam sessions can inspire students of all ages to create and enjoy music while learning about rhythm, structure and song arrangement. In January, Nintendo and the MENC announced a collaborative plan to help teachers integrate Wii Music in music curricula and classrooms across the nation.

Wii Music lets players try their hand at more than 60 different musical instruments, from piano and guitar to sitar, marimba and orchestral strings, using the wireless Wii Remote™ controller to strum, drum, pluck and play. Whether solo or in a group, players can jam along to more than 50 songs in a variety of genres, adding their own creative flourishes and sharing the results with friends.
