Alexander Doll to Join Lazard as Managing Director, Financial Advisory

Lazard Further Bolsters Investment Banking and Capital Structure Advisory in Germany

FRANKFURT--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Lazard Ltd (NYSE:LAZ) announced today that Alexander Doll will join the firm as a Managing Director in its Financial Advisory business in Germany. Mr. Doll will join Lazard in May after eight years with UBS in Germany, where he has advised the public sector and European companies on transactions in the transport, logistics, infrastructure, consumer and retail industries. Based in Frankfurt, Mr. Doll will focus on Lazard’s investment banking efforts in Germany, and Central and Eastern Europe.

Mr. Doll will work closely with Ernst Fassbender, Lazard’s Head of Investment Banking in Germany, and other senior members of the firm’s Financial Advisory business across its global network. Lazard has been strengthening its investment banking, market-leading financial restructuring and capital structure advisory effort in Europe, including the recent hire of Marcel Herter as Head of Debt Advisory and Restructuring in Germany.

During his time at UBS, Mr. Doll advised on major M&A, equity and debt related transactions, including the planned IPO of Deutsche Bahn, acting as joint global coordinator; Deutsche Bahn on the acquisitions of British Railway EWS and US logistics provider Bax Global; and Deutsche Eisenbahnreklame on its sale to Ströer Out of Home Media AG. Further assignments have included the takeover of Puma by PPR, the IPO of VTG, a leading international railway logistics group, and advising Deutsche Lufthansa on various transactions such as the sale of its stake in Amadeus Global Travel Distribution. Mr. Doll has acted as financial advisor to the Federal Government of Germany on several occasions, most notably the placements of Deutsche Post World Net shares by KfW.

Before joining UBS in 2001, Mr. Doll worked for Lehman Brothers in New York and Frankfurt.
