SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.--()--Gateworks Corporation, a leading provider of OEM computer solutions, introduces a new member to the Cambria Network Platform Family. The GW2350 is targeted for high performance customer premise equipment and applications which require a rugged, small form factor network processing engine.
The GW2350 features an Intel® IXP435 XScale® operating at 667MHz, 128Mbytes of DDRII memory and 32Mbytes of Flash. Peripherals include a Type III Mini-PCI socket, two 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet ports and two USB Host ports. Additional features include a watchdog timer and system monitor to track operating temperature and input voltage. The GW2350 also supports GPS and RS485 serial as ordering options. All of these features are contained in a small 3.3”x 4.0” form factor. The GW2350 is suited for harsh and severe environments with an extended operating temperature of -40 to +85°C.
The Intel IXP43x network processor used on the Cambria has been designed for the most demanding networking applications. The IXP43x combines a high-performance XScale core with network processing engines to achieve wire-speed performance. The IXP43x processor includes integrated hardware acceleration of popular cryptography algorithms for wireless and VPN applications that require a high level of security.
The GW2350 features a wide range 8-48VDC power input which can supply up to 8W to the Mini-PCI site allowing support for high power Mini-PCI radios. This allows OEM’s to support any of the latest 802.11 radio technologies (802.11ab/g, 802.11n, WiMax). The wide power input range allows the GW2350 to be used in a variety of applications ranging from automotive/transportation to solar and battery powered wireless sites. The temperature and voltage monitor allows for remote system monitoring and the programmable watchdog timer insures system health and reliability. For applications which require location information, an optional high sensitivity GPS receiver can be loaded directly on the board.
The board is preloaded from the factory with Redboot Boot-Loader and the OpenWrt Linux distribution. The OpenWrt Linux distribution is a robust and stable Linux distribution designed for wireless application and gives developers an open source framework from which to build fully custom applications.
Pricing for the GW2350 starts at US$211 in OEM quantities. The GW2350 is available now. For further information, visit the company's website at: http://www.gateworks.com.
