SEATTLE--()--MOD Systems, an industry-leading provider of digital media delivery systems for retailers, today announced Co-Founder Anthony Bay will participate in a panel entitled “Packaged Media: Not Dead Yet!” at the 2009 International CES conference, produced by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). Bay will join media and entertainment experts from Warner Music Group, LG Electronics, SanDisk Corporation and Rhapsody in a discussion on the health of DVD and CD formats as well as the future of on-demand digital entertainment in retail and at home.

In this panel, experts will discuss the latest trends shaping the packaged and on-demand media marketplace. Attendees will learn more about the market shift from DVD to digital, and explore solutions for adoption barriers, including incompatible devices and formats, DRM, broadband penetration/throughput, and the inability to move content between PCs, TVs, set-top boxes, DVRs, portable devices, etc. Retail executives will learn more about the DVD manufacturing-on-demand systems that will vastly improve the way they manage inventory and meet consumer demand, both for new releases and hard to find titles.
Bay co-founded MOD Systems in 2005 and holds more than 25 years of executive expertise, technology management and private-venture investor experience. Previously, Bay served as the Executive Chairman of Loudeye Corporation, acquired by Nokia in 2006 to power Nokia’s global music service. Before Loudeye, he spent six years with Microsoft and was Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the Digital Media Division. Bay also spent eight years at Apple Computer.
