FooMojo and Twentieth Century Fox Release Special Edition “Marley & Me” Virtual Puppy on Facebook, MySpace and the iPhone

Fans can adopt their very own “Marley” FooPet featuring animated scenes recreated from the film

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--()--FooMojo, Inc., creator of the world’s most realistic and emotionally engaging virtual pets, and Twentieth Century Fox today announced they have released the “Marley” FooPet, a special edition “Marley & Me” themed virtual dog available on Facebook for users with the FooPet application; the newly launched FooPets.com website; and on the iPhone. Based on the autobiographical book by John Grogan and starring Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston, “Marley & Me” is about life, love, family – and the world’s “worst” dog, a golden retriever named Marley. The film opens in theaters everywhere December 25. Capturing the charismatic, playful essence of this rascally dog, FooMojo’s Marley FooPet is a virtual, interactive replica of the movie’s golden retriever complete with animation sequences recreated from the film. Fans around the world are now invited to adopt their very own Marley FooPet and share in the experience of owning this one-of-a-kind dog.

“The basis of the Marley & Me story is the emotional attachment people form with their pets and how we are deeply impacted by the dogs, cats and other animals we grow to love so much”

“In the movie, Marley teaches his family about love and the strong bond that makes a pet so important in our lives,” said Bettina Sherick, Vice President Digital Marketing, Twentieth Century Fox. “Whether you’re a longtime pet owner or have never had a pet at all, we felt fans around the world should share in the positive experience of caring for their own personal Marley.”

“The basis of the Marley & Me story is the emotional attachment people form with their pets and how we are deeply impacted by the dogs, cats and other animals we grow to love so much,” said Dr. Ron Hornbaker, veterinarian, founder and chief executive officer, FooMojo, Inc., “We paid careful attention when creating the Marley FooPet and made sure he not only looks like the film’s Marley, but acts like him too. Working with Twentieth Century Fox on this project has been an amazing experience. We’re excited to be a part of bringing this wonderful character into the homes of fans everywhere and hope everyone enjoys their own personal Marley puppy.”
