FRANKLIN, Tenn.--()--ARx, LLC, business office operations and revenue cycle services provider to more than 150 hospitals across the United States, announced today that they have been awarded a contract by Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS) to help them identify, analyze, resolve and process managed care discrepancies for all of the 24 existing acute care hospitals within the hospital management company’s system. Universal Health Services, Inc. (NYSE: UHS) is a Fortune 500 company based in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. According to the May 5, 2008 edition of Fortune magazine, UHS is the fifth largest medical facilities company in the nation, operating acute care hospitals, behavioral health facilities and ambulatory centers in 32 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
“We are looking to ARx to provide us with anything we may have missed in interpretations of contract terms and the potential for recovery and for positive feedback to utilize to improve our ongoing operations.”
Since 1997, ARx has been focused on providing business office operations services and revenue cycle assistance to hospitals and other healthcare service provider organizations. Among the portfolio of business office solutions provided by the company is the Managed Care Revenue Recovery Services offering that has been selected by UHS.
“Following an exhaustive search to select a company that fits into UHS’s business philosophy and mission, we selected ARx because we felt that they were a company that we could work with not only on this project, but truly develop a “partnership” for the future,” said Maribeth Jenquine, Vice President of Patient Financial Services, Acute Care Division. “We are looking to ARx to provide us with anything we may have missed in interpretations of contract terms and the potential for recovery and for positive feedback to utilize to improve our ongoing operations.”
The recently signed agreement calls for ARx to work with all of the existing UHS hospitals and/or regional business office service centers to perform collections of underpayment discrepancies and provide verification and follow-up services on zero balance managed care accounts. The company will review all placed accounts for appropriate reimbursement per contract terms and perform insurance collections for all identified underpayments. ARx will also submit to UHS all adjustment requests for accounts not correctly contractualized.
“We are absolutely delighted to be working with UHS,” said Jeff White, founder and Chief Executive Officer of ARx. “UHS is one of the most highly respected and well managed organizations in the industry, and for ARx to have been selected as the sole business office operations partner for this initiative is truly an honor.”
