ADDING AND REPLACING - SES NEW SKIES: Satlynx Contracts Capacity On NSS-10

SES NEW SKIES Provides DVB/ IPsys® Connectivity to Africa

THE HAGUE, Netherlands--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SES NEW SKIES, an SES company (Paris:SESG) (LuxX:SESG) announces that Satlynx, a leading provider of satellite communication services throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa, has agreed to a multi-year deal for the provision of 20 Mbps on the Africa IPsys®/DVB platform aboard the NSS-10 satellite at the orbital position of 322.5 degrees East.

“We are now able to deliver services to both our enterprise customers wanting to do business in Africa as well as Internet Service Providers who offer connectivity locally.”

Satlynx is a GE (General Electric) company specialising in two-way satellite broadband communication services. IPsys® is a service from SES NEW SKIES that directly connects the Points of Presence (PoPs) or customer premises of remote ISPs to the global internet backbone via satellite.

“This was a great opportunity for us to secure scarce capacity over a key region for Satlynx,” commented Christian Stetter, VP Sales, Satlynx, “We are now able to deliver services to both our enterprise customers wanting to do business in Africa as well as Internet Service Providers who offer connectivity locally.”

Nigel Gibson, Regional Vice President - Europe and Middle East at SES NEW SKIES, states: “IPsys® connections bypass all shared ground networks and associated congestion points - as well as any terrestrial connectivity gaps - to seamlessly deliver rich internet content to even the most remote locations at high speeds. SES NEW SKIES is honored to provide Satlynx, who has been a valuable customer since 2002, with a full-service solution to support Africa’s growing demand for state-of-the-art broadband connections.”
