DeVry University Appoints Michael Cubbin President of Northern California Metro
FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DeVry University has appointed Michael Cubbin as the president of the Northern California region.
In his new position, Cubbin’s responsibility is to ensure faculty and staff effectively carry out the mission of the institution by delivering a quality education experience for students. DeVry University’s Northern California region comprises seven locations: Fremont, San Francisco, San Jose, Daly City, Elk Grove, Fresno and Bakersfield.

Cubbin joined DeVry University in 2003 as dean of students at DeVry University’s Miramar, Fla. location after a 35-year career at the General Motors Corporation, where he held progressive senior management positions, serving ultimately as the director-alliance manager of the GM-Fiat Joint Venture in Italy. During his time at GM, Cubbin was a member of the GMC/Toyota Joint Venture Team, which resulted in the creation of the NUMMI assembly plant in Fremont, Calif.
Cubbin received a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the General Motors Institute and an M.S. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Wayne State University.
