Nuance’s Veriphy 3.0 Responds to Industry Demand for Joint Commission Compliant Critical Test Result Management

Nuance Shows Continued Commitment to Improve Patient Care through Launch of New Offering for Closed-Loop Communication in the Hospital, Radiology and Lab

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nuance Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: NUAN), a leading supplier of speech solutions, today announces its new on-demand offering, Veriphy™ 3.0, a critical test result management (CTRM) solution that enables healthcare provider organizations to comply with The Joint Commission’s accreditation requirement for the way patients’ critical test results are communicated. Veriphy 3.0 is presently the only end-to-end healthcare enterprise solution that automatically tracks provider-to-provider shared patient messages, indicates the severity of patients’ findings and through its notification and message delivery process, does not “close the communication loop” until message receipt is verified by an authorized caregiver. Nuance is demonstrating this technology at the Radiological Society of North America’s (RSNA) annual conference in booth #6215.

Because getting information to the right clinician in a timely manner can be challenging, Veriphy streamlines the process by eliminating numerous communication handoff scenarios that put shared patient information at risk. Key product enhancements of Veriphy 3.0 include:

  • Connect Live – Facilitates critical result notification at the time the patient’s indication is identified by enabling bi-directional communication from the Veriphy system, the radiology reporting application (RadWhere for Radiology or PowerScribe for Radiology) or the lab. Notification can be sent via a personalized alert direct to the intended caregiver, or by incorporating a designated person to communicate the message, while ensuring that the message is monitored until received.
  • Directory Synch – Consolidates caregivers’ profiles across the institution, creating one consistent point-of-delivery that makes it simple to communicate with the correct ordering clinician every time.
  • Custom Notifications – Creates customized e-mail, fax, pager and text alerts based on the institution’s preference.
  • PIN Validation – Prompts users to enter a PIN to validate who has received the message in instances of shared devices, speeding receipt via a mobile device and closes the communication loop in the quick press of a few buttons.
