Coinstars Free Coin Counting Program Adds Lowes

The Average $90 in Change Per Household Can Now be Turned into Spending Power at Lowes

BELLEVUE, Wash.--()--Coinstar, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSTR) today announced Lowes as the latest addition to the Coinstar Coin to Card program. Consumers receive free coin counting when they convert their loose change to a Lowes eCertificate at more than 10,000 Coinstar Centers® located in supermarkets and other retail locations across the United States, beginning this month.

Consumers can use the Lowes eCertificate towards purchases at the more than 1,575 Lowes stores in the United States or online at lowes.com. Stocking 40,000 products, Lowes stores offer products customers need to build, improve, beautify and enjoy their homes.

The average American household has approximately $90 in loose change sitting unused in jars, under sofa cushions, and in dresser drawers, said Alex Camara, senior vice president and general manager of worldwide coin at Coinstar, Inc. This found money can be used to tackle those long overdue home projects that we all have.

Money from your coin jar could purchase the following items from Lowes:

12 oz. jar         Kobalt 20-Piece Screwdriver Set ($19.98)
16 oz. jar Valspar 1-Gal. Signature Colors Interior Paint ($29.98)
32 oz. jar Harbor Breeze Bella Vista Ceiling Fan ($49)
Average family stash Portfolio 4-Head Libbe Rail Light ($90)
1 Gal. BBQ Grillware Charcoal Grill ($199)

To use the Coin to Card service, consumers simply deposit their coins into the Coinstar Center, the coin is then counted, and the full value is applied to the Lowes eCertificate. The eCertificate is dispensed directly from the machine and can be used right away for in-store or online purchases.
