Picis Promotes Christine Cournoyer to President and COO, Lourdes Engel to Chief Technical Officer
Expands leadership role of two executives for high acuity software provider
WAKEFIELD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Picis, a global healthcare solutions provider, announced today Christine Cournoyer, chief operating officer (COO), has been promoted to assume the additional title and responsibilities of president of the company. The promotion recognizes Cournoyer’s achievements in advancing all areas of the company’s operations since joining the company in 2006.
Simultaneously, Picis expanded the role of Lourdes Engel to senior vice president of product development and chief technology officer (CTO). In this position, all of the company’s existing global product development and software quality efforts for emergency care, perioperative and critical care product lines now fall under her executive leadership.
“Promoting Chris Cournoyer to the new role of president and COO not only more accurately reflects the critical role she already assumes within Picis, but also recognizes the tremendous trust and confidence that she has developed as a result of her outstanding management and advisory capabilities,” said Todd Cozzens, CEO and vice chairman at Picis. “Picis has grown to become one of the largest healthcare IT (HIT) companies with a comprehensive set of products and services. Our senior management team is well balanced with both healthcare domain and enterprise software expertise. I am very fortunate to have Chris by my side in this expanded capacity as well as Lourdes Engel to oversee all the company’s product development, as we guide Picis through the next era of growth and service to our customers.”
Cournoyer is an industry veteran with a proven track record of aligning people, processes and systems to support operational excellence and growth. She helped build IBM’s software business as vice president of business transformation. Prior to that, she served as vice president of customer operations and technology and CIO in the IBM software group and as a senior vice president at Lotus Development Corp.
Lourdes Engel is a software engineering and technology expert with more than 20 years of senior level experience managing enterprise software development projects and teams. She joined Picis in 2007 as senior vice president of research and development where she was responsible for global development of the Picis CareSuite™ total perioperative and critical care solutions, including teams in Wakefield, Barcelona and the United Kingdom. Previously, she held the position of vice president, engineering and technical operations at InMagic, Inc., a provider of Web-based content management solutions for libraries and research centers.
“I am honored to receive this promotion and excited to continue to help guide Picis toward the next phase of growth where I can apply my skills and experience to the unique challenges and opportunities of the healthcare industry. Under Todd’s leadership and vision, Picis is solving complex issues facing healthcare providers today in the most cost and resource-intensive areas of the hospital. I am gratified every day in helping the world-class management team we’ve assembled execute on that vision,” says Cournoyer, COO and president at Picis.
