Crowd 1.5 Adds SSO to Google Apps, Support for OpenID 2.0 and Apple OS X Open Directory

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Atlassian announced today at Office 2.0 in San Francisco single sign-on support for Google Apps and OpenID 2.0 in the new release of Crowd, a simple, affordable identity management system.

One identity, behind the firewall, in the cloud

Crowd provides single sign-on across web applications behind the firewall, supporting all users, applications and user directory servers needed. With the popularity of Google Apps among enterprise customers, single sign-on has become an even more important and more complex challenge. This new release extends Crowd's identity management capabilities to Google Apps, allowing a user to authenticate directly to Google Apps with the one username and password they use to log on to other enterprise applications.

Crowd helps enterprise identity transcend the firewall and keeps users frustration-free and productive as they move between traditional applications and the brave new world of software-as-a-service (SaaS). Crowd's OpenID support gives administrators a simple, secure way to provide OpenID accounts for their users, and further centralize authentication to OpenID-supported web sites. Additionally, Crowd 1.5 offers support for OS X Open Directory as a directory source for user and logon information.
