USCarrier Telecom Prepares Southern US Coast Fiber Optic Network for Hurricane Hanna

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--USCarrier Telecom, LLC. a Southeastern wholesale provider of high-speed, long-haul, fiber optic transport, announced today hurricane preparedness plans for their Atlantic coast Points of Presence with a concentration in Savannah, GA.

Earlier this year, USCarrier was approved to participate in the Wireless Priority Service (WPS). WPS provides critical private sector personnel and infrastructure providers with priority wireless service during times of emergency.

In anticipation of the possible landfall of Hurricane Hanna, USCarrier has notified all Field Technician, Network Operation Center and Engineering personnel that they are on 24-hour alert mode all weekend. Ancillary personnel will be dispatched to physically drive the network to locate any potential problem areas.

The addition, the company has tested their back-up generators, sealed and sand bagged POP doors, backed-up all terminals, scheduled advance routine maintenance, notified vendors and ordered emergency equipment parts and have cable contractors prepared to deploy in the event of a crisis.
