Zimbra Broadens Mobile Capabilities for iPhone 2.0 with OTA Sync

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Zimbra, a Yahoo! (Nasdaq:YHOO) company, and the leader in open source, next-generation messaging and collaboration software, today announced general availability of Zimbra Mobile for iPhone 2.0.

Zimbra Mobile provides over-the-air (OTA) two-way synchronization of e-mails, multiple calendars and contacts between user mailboxes and mobile devices, and enables seamless “push” e-mail service for all versions of Zimbra Collaboration Suite (ZCS) Network Edition Standard or Professional, including the most current version, ZCS 5.0. Zimbra Mobile for iPhone 2.0 software allows iPhone users to maximize their business functions on the iPhone, complementing Apple’s recently added support for Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, PDF, JPEG and iWork. Additionally, Zimbra Mobile for iPhone enables OTA photo-sync, so photos associated with iPhone contacts will sync with the Zimbra address book as well.

The newest version of Zimbra Mobile for iPhone for Zimbra Collaboration Suite 5.0.9 adds support for synchronizing multiple calendars and address books, and also takes advantage of the latest Zimbra Server and iPhone software enhancements to further optimize push email performance.

Support for iPhones running 2.0 software is part of a wide range of smartphones Zimbra Mobile already supports, including Microsoft Window Mobile devices (PocketPCs and Smartphones), Palm Treo series, Nokia E series, BlackBerry and other devises running third party clients.

Pricing and Availability

The ZCS 5.0 Open Source Edition is free. The commercially supported ZCS 5.0 Network Edition is available for a 60-day free trial on the Zimbra website. Zimbra's Hosted Demo (www.zimbra.com/demo) is available for an immediate test drive of ZCS.

ZCS Network Edition includes product support as well as software subscriptions to new releases, updates and patches. ZCS is available on-premise or as a hosted service and is available at a significant educational or non-profit discount.

Zimbra Mobile is available as a component of either ZCS Network Edition Standard or Professional. It has an annual site license fee starting at $500. Additional third party software / licenses / data plans may be required depending on the devices that need to be supported.
