A.M. Best Withdraws Ratings of Southern General Indemnity Insurance Company
OLDWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A.M. Best Co. has withdrawn the financial strength rating (FSR) of A- (Excellent) and the issuer credit rating (ICR) of “a-” and assigned a category NR-5 (Not Formally Followed) to Southern General Indemnity Insurance Company (Southern General Indemnity). These rating actions follow the recent merger of Southern General Indemnity into its former affiliate, Southern General Underwriters Insurance Company (Southern General Underwriters).
The FSR of A- (Excellent) and ICRs of “a-” of Southern General Insurance Company (Southern General Insurance) and Southern General Underwriters are unaffected by this merger. All the above companies are located in Marietta, GA. Southern General Insurance and Southern General Underwriters are members of the Southern General Group.
