Moody's Investors Service Announces Structured Finance Leadership Changes

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Moody's Investors Service today announced the appointment of Andrew Kimball, 58, as the acting head of the company’s global Structured Finance business. Mr. Kimball replaces Noel Kirnon, who is leaving Moody’s effective July 31^st. A comprehensive search for a permanent head of Structured Finance is underway. Richard Cantor, 50, will assume acting responsibility for the role Mr. Kimball previously held as the Chief Credit Officer of Moody’s Investors Service and as Chairman of its Credit Policy Committee.

Mr. Kimball most recently served as Chief Credit Officer of Moody's Investors Service and Chairman of the Credit Policy Committee. Mr. Kimball has held various senior positions at Moody’s, including Senior Managing Director for Global Corporate Finance and Managing Director for Moody's Risk Management Services. Mr. Kimball joined the firm in 1987 as a Senior Analyst, and soon after was promoted to Associate Director in Moody's Structured Finance group. Mr. Kimball holds a Ph.D. in English Literature from Harvard University.

Mr. Cantor most recently served as Managing Director of the Credit Policy Research Group, which measures ratings performance globally, publishes related research, and contributes to default research data and analytical tools. He is a member of the Moody's Credit Policy Committee and co-chairs Moody's Academic Advisory Panel. Mr. Cantor joined Moody's from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where he held a variety of positions in the Research Group and was Staff Director at the Discount Window. Prior to joining the Federal Reserve, he taught economics. Mr. Cantor received a Ph.D. in Economics from The Johns Hopkins University.
