SALT LAKE CITY--()--The City of Peterborough, Ontario announced today the purchase of an electronic agenda software system from SIRE Technologies of Salt Lake City, Utah. The system is designed to automate manual processes and produce agendas and minutes for the city’s council and committee meetings.
“The SIRE software is user friendly, efficient and versatile. Also, we liked that we could 'purchase and own' the SIRE software solution, hosted on the City’s server, maintained by our own information technology staff”
“Using SIRE’s Agenda Plus, we are expecting to save an average of 12.3 hours of staff time per week for committee and council agenda and minute preparation – time we can use in other areas of the Clerk’s office to provide improved customer service,” said Nancy Wright-Laking, City Clerk at the City of Peterborough.
The city estimates that in a typical year, approximately 117,000 pages of agenda material are printed and circulated. Additionally, it takes an average of 21 hours per week of staff time to track, assemble, collate, web publish and distribute the many scheduled agenda and minutes to council and city staff. “Product features like automatic packet compilation, renumbering of agenda items, report tracking and workflow as well as direct publication to the web will speed up and enhance our processes significantly,” said Wright-Laking. “SIRE also reduces the margin of error inherent in a manual system, and allows us to ensure certain standards of agenda preparation, meeting procedures, and minute taking are being met.”
SIRE was selected over other vendors in the procurement process. “The SIRE software is user friendly, efficient and versatile. Also, we liked that we could 'purchase and own' the SIRE software solution, hosted on the City’s server, maintained by our own information technology staff,” commented Chris Gould, Business Systems Analyst for the City of Peterborough.
