InterSystems develops and markets innovative database and integration software for connected healthcare. Initially, Ensemble will format data coming from multiple systems into a stream of information that will be presented to radiologists as one platform of applications in a single format. "Regardless of how the information came in, it will be perceived by the radiologists as one Picture Archiving and Communications application, one Radiology Information System, one voice recognition application, and so forth," Reklis explained. Ensemble will then re-transform the radiologists' test results into whatever format is appropriate for the system receiving the results.

In addition to a user-friendly environment that makes it possible to rapidly build interfaces for a wide variety of systems and data repositories, Ensemble offers the comprehensive features needed to support organizational expansion, Reklis noted. "Right now, our market is in the Greensboro, N.C. geographic area. But, that is changing with this engine. With Ensemble, we have the technology we need for aggressive expansion." Plans are to go live with the first interface in May, with ongoing rollout of new interfaces throughout the year.
