MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--()--PostPath, creator of the industry’s only email and collaboration server (other than Exchange itself) that seamlessly operates with Outlook, Active Directory and Exchange™, today announced that in conjunction with EMC it has completed integration work between PostPath Server and the EMC® CLARiiON® CX3 UltraScale™ series of networked storage systems. This collaboration provides customers with new levels of performance, protection and operational efficiency to manage email ecosystems.
“We look forward to working with PostPath to ensure that our mutual customers have the highest level of support possible for their information infrastructure initiatives.”
The PostPath file-based architecture offers users high performance and greater efficiency over those email systems that use proprietary and complex databases. In particular, with the PostPath Server, customers can easily scale their CLARiiON storage system, and leverage EMC tiered storage, including Fibre Channel or SATA drive technology. In addition, PostPath customers can take advantage of the EMC Navisphere® management suite, including snapshot and replication, to ease backup, improve uptime and facilitate disaster recovery. PostPath’s file-based email storage is designed from the ground up to enable flexibility, operational efficiency, and lower total cost of ownership.
“Many PostPath Server customers already deploy EMC CLARiiON CX3 networked storage systems, and our collaboration enables them to leverage the potential of this combination of products,” said Steve Erbst, vice president of worldwide sales and alliances, PostPath. “This integration expands the appeal of current PostPath products, making them a natural fit for the many corporations that rely on EMC CLARiiON. What’s more, over time we expect to find additional ways to make our products work together even more closely, further improving and easing customers’ email data management.”
The PostPath email solution uses the file system directly to store data, with no intermediate database. The store is very fast, with up to 95 percent latency reduction in comparative tests, backup is simple and incremental, and restores can be granular to individual email. EMC CLARiiON CX3 systems exploit the file-based nature of PostPath’s storage scheme to maximize per-server data density, and to, for instance, enable cost effective large — even ‘bottomless’ — mail boxes in the Enterprise. The PostPath Server is optimized for use with EMC CLARiiON CX3 and is now available for free download at: http://www.postpath.com/solutions/download/free12.
“The integration of PostPath and EMC CLARiiON CX3 series provides customers with a cost efficient way to manage their email ecosystem by taking advantage of EMC tiered storage to protect their growing information assets without compromising performance,” said Paul Brown, vice president, Integration and Interoperability, EMC E-Lab. “We look forward to working with PostPath to ensure that our mutual customers have the highest level of support possible for their information infrastructure initiatives.”
