PHILADELPHIA--()--George Mucci has been named Business Wire's Philadelphia regional manager, part of a broader realignment that strengthens Business Wire's management structure in the key Mid-Atlantic states, while providing additional resources for the company's expansion into new services beyond its core markets.
“George has the knowledge, relationships, and leadership skills to build upon Business Wire's upward momentum in the Philadelphia market”
With his promotion, Mucci is returning home, having worked as an account executive in Business Wire's Philadelphia office from 1997 to 2003. Mucci, who was named an account manager in Business Wire's Washington, D.C. office in 2004, played a major role in Business Wire's rapid growth in the nation's capital. The office has benefited from the successful launch of its Public Policy Services Group, which provides communicators with innovative ways of identifying, targeting, and influencing key decision-makers.
Mucci takes on the role formerly held by Lee Marshall, who was named vice president, Industry Alliances, last year. Marshall is currently responsible for maintaining Business Wire's strong working relationships with important organizations and professional associations, including BIO and the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI), among others.
"George has the knowledge, relationships, and leadership skills to build upon Business Wire's upward momentum in the Philadelphia market," said Richard DeLeo, regional vice president.
Mucci and his wife, Karen, are alumni of Rutgers in New Jersey. Three of their four children are currently enrolled in the school, with the youngest still in high school.
