GRAND HAVEN, Mich.--()--Azulstar Inc (www.azulstar.com) – a provider of next -generation wireless broadband services, has been approved to design, build and operate Sacramento’s wireless broadband network. The agreement between the City of Sacramento and Sacramento Metro Connect (a California Limited Liability Company) was approved by Sacramento City Council on June 21, 2007. The agreement specifies a city-wide high performance network covering more than 90 square miles and more than 400,000 internet users. Sacramento is the fifth United States market in which Azulstar will be operating a wireless network.

The network will provide wireless access to the general public, as well as supporting a broad range of enhanced services by residential, small business enterprise, educational, public sector, not for profit and commercial users. It will also offer premium fee-based services such as wireless Voice Over IP (VoIP) and video streaming, and will feature built in protections of user privacy.
