Toshiba’s Next-Generation Qosmio G45 to Push Graphics Capabilities Through Integration of NVIDIA’s Newest Graphics Processing Unit

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Toshiba’s Digital Product Division, a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today announced that the next-generation Qosmio™ G45, the company’s premier audio-visual notebook computer, will incorporate NVIDIA’s new GeForce 8600M graphics processing unit (GPU) for an unprecedented multimedia and high-definition digital experience.

By combining the high-end capabilities of the new Qosmio G45, with the revolutionary new NVIDIA GeForce 8600M series GPU, users are empowered to maximize the notebook’s advanced video processor for superb playback of high-definition movies, and will be able to handle large and graphically intense tasks with ease.

The new GPU fully supports Microsoft® DirectX 10, to deliver life-like images and stunning detail for cinema-like quality gaming effects and lighting, which results in greatly improved gameplay, multimedia performance and high-definition digital video playback. With DirectX 10 capabilities, the Qosmio G45 will usher in a new era of mobile PC gaming by delivering realistic images and textures for today’s hottest PC games.

Pricing, availability and specific model number and configuration for the next-generation Qosmio G45 with the NVIDIA GeForce 8 series GPU will be announced during the third quarter of 2007.

All new Toshiba notebooks are RoHS-compatible1, effectively reducing the environmental impact by restricting the use of lead, mercury and certain other hazardous substances. Toshiba also offers a computer trade-in and recycling program to reduce environmental impact and promote efficient utilization of resources.
