FORT ATKINSON, Wis.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cygnus Business Media, a leading diversified business-to-business media company, announced today that J. Thomas Gensch has been appointed Chief Growth Officer. A new generation of senior executives are taking on the role of Chief Growth Officer, a position charged with identifying New Growth Platforms (NGPs) in order to increase top line revenue. New Growth Platforms are ancillary products and services that offer long-term growth potential. He will report to Co-CEO Carr Davis.

Gensch has more than 20 years of customer-focused sales and marketing experience. He has been successful in achieving revenue and customer acquisition targets by building growth teams and strategic programs. Before joining Cygnus Business Media he served as vice president of worldwide sales for Knovel Corporation, a technical information service, where he led global customer acquisition efforts to more than 400 corporate institutions and 135 universities.
Prior to Knovel, he was vice president of content and premium service at Payment One, a billing and payment activation company. During his tenure, Gensch developed key customer relationships globally with Microsoft, Yahoo and Earthlink. He also served as vice president of worldwide sales for Tele Knowledge, a provider of content monetization, customer management and billing software solutions for the largest Telco and Internet service providers in the world. In addition to his Internet and content experience, Gensch assisted in building an e-support infrastructure for Fortune 100 companies as vice president of sales -- east region for Support Soft.
