We've all been there.... Half way through that fantastic DVD and all of a sudden the screen freezes-never to start again. You're listening to that favorite (and often played) CD but now, infuriatingly, it skips without mercy. Your children's expensive video game discs have "mysteriously" stopped working (strange considering you found them face down on the hardwood floor??).
"BLOCKBUSTER is dedicated to home entertainment," says Kimberly Clark, Vice President Marketing BLOCKBUSTER Canada. "Providing a worry free service that allows our customers to enjoy all of their entertainment choices is what this repair service will offer."
For the first time ever, a Blockbuster customer can now bring in their damaged DVDs, CDs and Video Game discs to any Calgary Blockbuster and have the disc repaired in about 24 hours. The customer simply brings in a damaged CD, DVD, or Game Disc, fills out a disc repair envelope, and gives it to the Customer Service Representative. The Blockbuster staff will then repair the disc, which can be picked up the next day.
DVDs, CDs or compatible Video Game Disc Discs can be repaired at any Calgary store for $3.99 per disc. In most cases this represents a 75% savings from replacement costs. Calgary is being used as a test market for this service due to its regional success. The program begins Monday, October 2nd, 2006. Blockbuster may expand the service throughout Canada in the future.
