Cybera Named First Certified Provider for Shell CoolBand; Five Shell Operators Select Cybera for Advanced, Broadband Networking Solution

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--()--March 6, 2006--Cybera Inc. announced today that it is the first company to receive Shell Oil Products U.S. (SOP US) CoolBand certification. SOP US created CoolBand certification as a new wide area networking option for independent operators who run more than 10,000 Shell branded stores nationwide.

Cybera also announced installations at five independent operators as part of CoolBand. The installations range in size from 25 stores to more than 100 stores.

Without CoolBand, each Shell branded store uses a VSAT satellite network for SOP US enterprise applications. The new CoolBand option enables independent operators to add their own applications, such as VoIP, video surveillance, enterprise inventory management and human resources, to the same network that supports SOP US enterprise applications. The CoolBand network can include both Shell and non-Shell branded locations.

SOP US certified Cybera after the company demonstrated excellence as a managed private network service provider.

"Cybera earned CoolBand certification because they meet the high security and reliability standards that Shell demands of its networking partners," said Paul Stanifer, general manager operation support for SOP US. "Coolband is an important technology initiative for SOP US and for independent operators who want to achieve a competitive advantage by using technology more effectively."

Forward Corporation is among the first independent operators to implement CoolBand.

"Cybera has gone above and beyond my expectations in the level of service that they have provided during installation and after we went live," said Bob Pierce, director of information systems at Forward Corporation. "The Cybera network is one less thing that I have to worry about. They have taken care of everything."

Cybera has worked in the convenience store market for several years and understands the unique needs of the market.

"Cybera meets all of CoolBand's standards while maintaining customizability and flexibility for each independent operator," said Cliff Duffey, Cybera chief executive officer and president. "Cybera is the only network they will ever need."

SOP US announced CoolBand at its national distributor conference held March 6-8 in Las Vegas.
