The first-of-its-kind offering will allow consumers to easily take the CDs they own with them into the digital world by having RipDigital handle the entire conversion process. Tweeter customers will also be able to purchase a portable digital music player that can be delivered preloaded with their own CD collections.

The premium RipDigital service, which retails for $1.49 per CD (including shipping and insurance), makes it simple for consumers to transfer their music collections to digital music players. By offering a range of digital formats, including lossless formats preferred for stereo listening, RipDigital allows consumers to enjoy audiophile-quality sound.

Tweeter is also offering the RipDigital service in conjunction with its growing in-home installation business. When a customer purchases a digital media server for the home, Tweeter offers the service of loading the music, already converted by RipDigital, into the home device.

Here's how the service works:
1. Place Your Order: Visit one of Tweeter's 160 retail locations to purchase the RipDigital CD conversion service (either stand alone or along with a digital music player).
2. UPS Your CDs: Shipping material will accompany your in-store purchase. Send your CDs and digital music player to RipDigital via UPS (prepaid label and insurance included).
3. Receive Your Digital Music: The fully loaded music player arrives with a DVD archive of your digital music collection along with a printed binder including your entire CD collection with CD cover art and track listings. Original CDs are also returned.
