Ultratech Announces Results of Annual Meeting of Stockholders

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 19, 2005--Ultratech Inc. (Nasdaq:UTEK), a leading supplier of photolithography systems used to manufacture semiconductors and nanotechnology devices, announces the voting results of its Annual Meeting of Stockholders held today in San Jose, California.

Stockholders approved by majority vote the matters set forth in the company's proxy statement.

The company's stockholders approved the elections of Thomas D. George, Dennis R. Raney and Vincent F. Sollitto Jr. to the Board of Directors for terms ending upon the 2007 annual stockholders meeting.

The company's stockholders ratified the appointment of Ernst & Young LLP as independent auditors of the company for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2005.
