NEW ORLEANS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 14, 2005--Kyocera Wireless Corp., a leading global manufacturer of CDMA wireless phones and devices, today announced several new wireless handsets and exciting accessories aimed at extending the value of Kyocera mobile phones. The portfolio, displayed at the CTIA Wireless 2005 trade show, showcases Kyocera's renowned ability to create simple, affordable and easy-to-use mobile devices that fit a wide range of needs without sacrificing style, features or functionality. Rockin' with Kyocera Slider Remix KX5

Music lovers will be able to dial to the beat with the new Kyocera Slider Remix KX5. An attractive addition to Kyocera's popular line of "slider" phones, the Slider Remix unites a 1.3 megapixel camera, a digital music player and games with a large, vibrant color screen on the phone's signature sliding faceplate. The handset is the perfect choice for social mobile phone users who want to enjoy their music files, high-resolution images and short video clips quickly and easily without sacrificing style. With 16MB of onboard memory and an expandable memory slot for TransFlash(TM) cards up to 256MB, the latest MP3s and photos can be easily downloaded and shared between the phone and other devices.

Slider Remix features the unmistakably-Kyocera "pinwheel" user interface for easy navigation between the phone's various features. The integrated 1.3 megapixel digital camera features a built-in flash and 5X digital zoom to expand picture-taking options, all accessible via one touch of a dedicated "easy access" camera button on the side of the phone. Slider Remix's 176x220 pixel, 262,000-color TFT screen is ideal for viewing images, surfing the Internet or playing 3D games, which can be downloaded via BREW(TM) or Java(TM). Integrated MMS makes sharing ringtones, 15-second video clips and high-resolution images a button push away.(a)

The Kyocera Slider Remix KX5 also offers a full suite of appealing accessories, most notably the Kyocera Music Dock, a sync and charging cradle that features a jack to attach personal speakers and utilize the phone's music features, and the Kyocera K500 Gamepad, an eight-directional gaming controller for an incredible gaming experience.

Measuring 4.8cm x 9.8cm x 2.2cm and weighing 110 grams, Kyocera Slider Remix KX5 will be available globally with CDMA carriers in Q3 2005.

The Kyocera KX9 was created for the majority of mobile phone users who just want to make a simple phone call or send a text message. A compact clamshell with external caller ID and an easy-to-use keypad for quick dialing and text messaging, KX9 offers carriers many options as well. With a high-quality, 65,000-color display, speakerphone and Enhanced Messaging Services (EMS), KX9 offers a basic voice-only model or an upgraded feature set that incorporates a WAP browser for Internet access and BREW 2.1 for downloads of games, ringers and more.(a)

Measuring 4.8cm x 8.8cm x 2.5cm and weighing 100 grams, Kyocera KX9 will be available globally with CDMA carriers in Q3 2005.

Kyocera Topaz KX7 & Kyocera Prisma KX17

Designed to meet the needs of both emerging and established international CDMA markets, the Kyocera Topaz KX7 and the Kyocera Prisma KX17 offer easy-to-use features and an understated style for value-conscious consumers. The Kyocera Topaz is a sleek, silver clamshell with all the features mobile users need, including built-in speakerphone, polyphonic ring tones, wallpapers, screensavers and games, plus an extensive contact directory and productivity tools. Kyocera's Prisma offers a similar feature set, only in an attractive, thin bar form factor with an internal antenna. All features are easy to find with Kyocera's renowned user interface, five-way navigation key and blue backlit keypad. Avid texters will enjoy Kyocera's predictive text input for rapid text entry and support for multiple languages including English, Spanish, Portuguese and Hindi. Kyocera Accessories

Whether a music fan, a hardcore gamer, an enterprise data user or a voice-centric talker, Kyocera customers now have a variety of easy-to-use options available to further enjoy their devices with new Genuine Accessories by Kyocera. The Kyocera KR1 Router is a CDMA2000(R) 1x Evolution Data Optimized (EVDO) data router that can make your wireless PC network completely mobile. Designed for use with 1xEVDO PC cards such as the Kyocera Passport or 1xEVDO handsets, the KR1 takes a single EVDO connection and creates a mobile Ethernet hub or WiFi "hot spot" for up to 20 PC devices.(a)

The Kyocera K500 Gamepad, designed in conjunction with gaming leader Alienware, gives gamers an eight-directional pad for a "console-like" handheld gaming experience with full-featured handsets such as the Kyocera Slider Remix. The Kyocera Music Dock amplifies the digital music experience for Kyocera music phones with a phone cradle that plays tunes on personal headphones and desktop speakers. Finally, Kyocera Mobile PhoneTools software allows users to sync phone contacts, ringers and pictures from a PC directly to Kyocera phones -- bringing "smartphone" sync functionality to many more affordable phones. These accessories and more will all be available at CDMA carriers and on the Genuine Accessories by Kyocera Web store (http://store.kyocera-wireless.com) in Q3 2005.
