In its continued effort to deliver intelligent, policy-based management and non-disruptive storage networking infrastructures, Cloverleaf Communications today announced it plans to deliver advanced business continuity services based on tight integration with the Cisco MDS 9000 Series SANTap Service (SANTap). SANTap helps enable the Cloverleaf Intelligent Storage Networking(TM) (iSN(TM)) system to deliver incomparable business continuity applications without compromising the integrity, availability and performance of the primary data path.

Cloverleaf will deliver its iSN using the SANTap service of the Cisco MDS family of switches and directors to provide a full suite of business continuity services, including data protection, operational and disaster recovery services. Essentially, SANTap intercepts all data written to the primary storage and replicates it on-the-fly to the iSN. Cloverleaf's iSN then receives the replicated data and uses it to manage a full replica of the production data on the secondary storage, which can be located anywhere around the globe. Ultimately, SANTap enables non-disruptive iSN deployment to existing environments and reduces potential concern of putting a programmable platform in the main data path, while the replica enjoys the full set of iSN advanced services such as:
