Loomis Group CEO Joins Advisory Board for University of Oregon's College of Arts & Sciences

SAN FRANCISCO--()--June 29, 2004--Loomis Group, an independent, integrated marketing agency, today announced that its founder and CEO, Jeff Loomis, has accepted an appointment to the University of Oregon's College of Arts & Sciences Advisory Board. Loomis, a graduate of UO, founded Loomis Group 17 years ago and has overseen the company's development into a 70-person, global agency that provides marketing expertise for clients in diverse markets, including consumer and medical technologies, health care, communications, Internet, semiconductor and nanotechnology.

As a member of the advisory board, Loomis will assist the College of Arts & Sciences' dean and development staff with current capital campaigns and the launch of the Oregon Nanoscience and Microtechnologies Institute (ONAMI) at UO.

“This position is a perfect fit considering the recent growth of Loomis Group's nanotechnology practice and our continuing commitment to integrated marketing that delivers direct results for our clients.”

"I am excited about this opportunity to serve my alma mater by supporting the College of Arts & Sciences and, in particular, UO's continuing research in nanoscience," Loomis said. "This position is a perfect fit considering the recent growth of Loomis Group's nanotechnology practice and our continuing commitment to integrated marketing that delivers direct results for our clients."

Loomis Group's success with nanotechnology clients has led to a position as a marketing partner and sponsor for the first annual SEMI NanoForum, to be held this fall in Austin, Texas. In addition, Small Times magazine recently ranked Loomis Group one of the top three PR firms for the nanotechnology industry.

"Jeff's appointment comes at an opportune time for the College of Arts & Sciences. ONAMI builds upon a 20-year history of innovation in the fields of materials science and optics at UO," said Joe Stone, CAS Dean and W.E. Miner Professor of Economics. "Jeff can provide vital expertise in the areas of marketing and promotion for ONAMI and his background complements the make-up of our advisory board well."
