The error occurred through a misunderstanding when the winning envelope opened by presenter Geena Davis revealed only Ms. Dickson's name without reference to either film and it was incorrectly deemed and announced that Ms. Dickson won for both films. The accounting firm of LDE Management, responsible for counting the ballots, called the error to the attention of CDG resulting in today's correction.
“The Lord of The Rings: The Return of the King.”
The corrected release reads:

The statuettes reflect a mixture of neo-classicism and 1940's Hollywood glamour.
