RFID Leader Intermec Technologies Joins EPCglobal

EVERETT, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 2, 2004--Intermec Technologies Corp. today announced it has joined EPCglobal, a joint venture of the standards bodies EAN International and the Uniform Code Council.

EPCglobal is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing and overseeing standards for the newly emerging Electronic Product Code. As part of that work, Intermec and other EPCglobal members are leading development of standards for the use of RFID technology in the retail industry.
