SEATTLE--()--The National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society has appointed John Bjornson, a 15-year veteran of the management consulting firm Point B, to their national board.
“John brings a renewed sense of energy and commitment to our cause”
The MS Society helps people affected by multiple sclerosis through funding cutting-edge research, driving change through advocacy, facilitating professional education, and providing programs and services that help people with MS and their families move their lives forward. Prior to his national appointment, Bjornson played an active role as the board chair for the local chapter of the National MS Society in Washington state. As chairman, he presided over the chapter’s considerable growth in income, program expansion and staff development. Under Bjornson’s leadership the chapter was named the best nonprofit workplace in the state by two different publications.
“John brings a renewed sense of energy and commitment to our cause,” says Thomas R. Kuhn, chairman of the MS Society Board and president of the Edison Electric Institute in Washington, D.C. “He has been instrumental in helping the Greater Northwest Chapter thrive and we are fortunate to have him serve at the national level.”
"I’m honored to join the national board and look forward to continuing to assist the MS Society with its important work and securing funding for ongoing research to eliminate the disease,” says Bjornson.
An early employee of Point B, Bjornson has been a key leader for the firm since its inception in 1995. Responsible for establishing firm operations, as well as growing the Seattle office to over 250 associates, Bjornson has helped numerous clients achieve their strategic business goals, in addition to developing countless associates along the way.
Bjornson was previously a manager at Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting). He holds a B.S. in computer engineering and engineering/physics from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Wash. In his free time, he enjoys biking, basketball, anything involving lakes and helping to raise his three kids.
