DENVER--()--Mojofiti™, a global network of people working together to break down language barriers, today announced the founders of CRONAN, Michael Cronan and Karin Hibma, have joined its board of directors.
“It’s not often one has the opportunity to work on something that will have such a monumental impact on the global population”
Cronan and Hibma are best known for the naming and the identities of TiVo and Verio, and for naming Amazon Kindle. In June of 2009, they were both named two of Fast Company's list of 100 Most Creative People in Business.
“Eliminating language barriers on a global scale is a huge undertaking and one that requires big ideas from people who have the vision and drive to make it happen,” said Alan Simon, founder, Mojofiti. “We are thrilled to have the caliber of two remarkable individuals such as Michael and Karin join our board and help us achieve our goal of uniting the world through boundary less collaboration.”
Cronan, founder and CEO of CRONAN naming, identity and brand strategy firm, is an American graphic designer, artist and an American Institute of Graphic Arts Fellow based in Berkeley, California. Cronan was one of the founders of the San Francisco Bay Area postmodern movement in graphic design that became known as the "Pacific Wave." He is a recognized corporate identity designer whose imaginative perception and innovation have been the hallmarks of his 30-year award-winning design career. The recipient of numerous awards from leading national and international design organizations and publications, his firm's design is represented in the collections of the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian Institute, the permanent Design Collection of San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, London's Victoria & Albert Museum, and was featured in the Museo Fortuny (Venice, Italy) exhibition Pacific Wave.
“For 30 years I have helped organizations transcend cultures with their brand identities and firmly believe in the power of enabling people to collaborate freely in their native languages,” said Cronan. “I am thrilled to join Mojofiti’s board of directors and be part of this ambitious undertaking to create a world without language barriers.”
As a strategy partner in CRONAN since its founding in 1980, Karin Hibma has been involved in design throughout her career. She has concentrated on incorporating smart design processes and finding "the big idea" inherent in every client's projects. Over the years, she has served as Managing Director and CFO of the company, overseeing a combined team of 22 designers and production assistants, and managing business relationships with clients from Levi Strauss & Co to Estee Lauder, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and from Silicon Valley. Hibma serves on the advisory council of the International Design Conference in Aspen (IDCA).
“It’s not often one has the opportunity to work on something that will have such a monumental impact on the global population,” said Hibma. “I’m inspired by Mojofiti’s vision to foster collaboration between people in all countries, from all walks of life, and look forward to joining this board of highly talented individuals.”
