LONDON--()--Kaplan, Inc., a leading global provider of education and a subsidiary of The Washington Post Company (NYSE: WPO), has announced the appointment of José Wehnes as Chief Executive Officer of Kaplan Europe, effective immediately.

Mr Wehnes has 30 years of executive experience in multinational markets including Europe, the US, Asia, and Latin America. Most recently, he was Managing Director of Elsevier, Health Sciences. Previously, he was Managing Director for the international arm of Harcourt Publishers.
Based in London, Kaplan Europe provides education and training for professional qualifications, English language programmes, university pathways, and higher education. In addition to managing these businesses, Mr Wehnes will focus on developing a strategic programme for Kaplan’s future growth in Europe.
