Oregon’s North Coast Tempts Taste Buds, Celebrates Local Fresh-Caught Seafood April 23-25

WHAT:	This spring, the historic maritime communities of Astoria and Warrenton, Ore., will celebrate the bounty of the Pacific Ocean during the 28^th annual Astoria-Warrenton Crab, Seafood and Wine Festival. The highlight of the three-day event is a traditional crab dinner featuring local, fresh-caught Oregon Dungeness crab. Seafood lovers can also taste fresh shrimp, salmon, oysters, halibut, clam chowder and other delicious delicacies, while sipping locally brewed craft beer and savoring Pacific Northwest wine. The family-friendly festival features live music and handcrafted art made in the region.
WHEN:	Friday – Sunday, April 23 – 25, 2010

	-- Saturday: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
	-- Sunday: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
WHERE:	The Astoria-Warrenton Crab, Seafood and Wine Festival takes place at the Clatsop County Fairgrounds. Shuttle service is available for $1 each way from area hotels, campgrounds and convenient park-and-ride locations in Astoria and Warrenton, including the Port of Astoria. Astoria and Warrenton are located on Oregon’s historic North Coast, where the Columbia River meets the Pacific Ocean, 90 miles northwest of Portland. Astoria is the oldest American settlement west of the Rockies and will celebrate its 200^th anniversary in 2011. Still home to a working waterfront, Astoria boasts a vibrant cultural scene including art galleries, museums, restaurants, shops and Victorian homes.
COST:	Adult admission for the festival is $8 on Friday, $10 on Saturday and $5 on Sunday. Weekend passes are available for $18. Children under the age of 12 are free. The fresh-caught Dungeness crab dinner will be available at the current market rate. Parking at the event is $5.
