SINGAPORE--()--BayTSP announced the initial deployment today of its online content identification system that allows content owners and advertisers to effectively target audiences, manage video advertising and monetize content on user-generated content sites.
“Our Content Authentication Platform identifies content where it appears online, giving content owners such as MediaCorp more options for partnering with UGC sites to deliver highly relevant advertising and promotions alongside user posted content.”
This is the first production system that integrates contextual analysis of audio and video with online advertising and promotion programs.
The system, announced at the Asia Television Forum, was developed with support from the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA). MediaCorp is partnering with BayTSP in this initiative.
The system is the latest development of BayTSP’s Content Authentication Platform (CAP), which uses multiple digital fingerprinting and watermarking technologies to identify content posted on user-generated content sites. MediaCorp will provide the content and explore advertising models.
“The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore has taken the lead in promoting Singapore as a digital media distribution hub and their support for this project will put Singapore at the forefront of the global push to monetize digital content online,” said BayTSP CEO Mr. Mark Ishikawa. “Our Content Authentication Platform identifies content where it appears online, giving content owners such as MediaCorp more options for partnering with UGC sites to deliver highly relevant advertising and promotions alongside user posted content.”
"Digital media technologies have enabled increased consumption of content. At the same time it has also provided a fertile online environment for content piracy. As a content owner, MediaCorp sees great potential in using business intelligence to identify where our digital audiences are congregating and what content is popular. We are excited to partner with IDA, BayTSP and other industry partners in this accelerator project to explore the potential of innovative content fingerprinting combined with digital advertising for further monetisation of MediaCorp's content. Through this collaboration, we hope to explore and develop a viable business model to combat content piracy," said Mr. Mock Pak Lum, Managing Director, MediaCorp Technologies.
“In line with IDA’s Digital Marketplace Programme to establish Singapore as Asia’s trusted hub for managing and distributing digital content and services, IDA is happy to have facilitated the collaboration of BayTSP and MediaCorp to develop this online content identification system. Through this accelerator project, we hope to enable content owners, advertisers and media service providers to leverage on infocomm technologies to open up new growth opportunities to reach out to the growing number of digital media consumers in Asia,” said Mr. Andrew Khaw, Senior Director, Industry Development Group of IDA, Singapore.
We expect this program to be a model for content owners, creators and distributors in Asia and worldwide.
