Star Clipper Dinner Train® Turns 25

WALLED LAKE, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The iconic Star Clipper Dinner Train®, the first dinner train in North America, turns 25 years old this week and to celebrate, is offering a “return in time” with both its shows and its pricing.

On Saturday evening, Aug. 4, 1984, the soon to be famous dinner train, made its debut departure from Osage Iowa with 121 passengers onboard a classic passenger train named “The Star Clipper”. That evening guests enjoyed a new dining and entertainment concept offering a fresh, chef-prepared meal and live, tableside entertainment. Now 25 years later, the Star Clipper Dinner Train has provided memorable, rail-oriented entertainment experiences to well over two million passengers. The Star Clipper Dinner Train set the standard for Murder Mystery theatrical shows and musical shows performed “Vegas style” onboard a moving train. No other dinner train in North America has ever completely matched the Star Clipper’s unique dining and entertainment experience and today, the Star Clipper continues to refine its programming to offer exceptional train experiences to people of all ages. The Star Clipper moved into Michigan in 1985.

This weekend, Aug. 7^th to Aug. 9^th, the Star Clipper Dinner Train celebrates its milestone 25^th birthday with two of its original shows. On Friday the Star Clipper offers its classic musical “Sentimental Journey”. On Saturday evening, the Star Clipper offers its classic theatrical show “Murder Madness”, a murder mystery show that has become timeless.
