SEATTLE--()--Tideworks Technology®, Inc., a leading provider of full-service terminal management and planning software solutions, today announced it has been selected by BNSF Railway (BNSF) to participate in a pilot project at BNSF’s Alliance Intermodal Facility in Fort Worth, Texas. The announcement was made in conjunction with the Terminal Operators Conference and Exhibition of the Americas (TOC) 2008 in Long Beach, Calif., where Tideworks is exhibiting at booth C26.
“Tideworks is excited and honored to be selected to participate in BNSF’s pilot program at its Alliance Intermodal Facility”
The pilot project will encompass the implementation of Tideworks’ Spinnaker Planning Management System® and Traffic Control™ solutions at BNSF’s fifth largest intermodal facility. Spinnaker provides fully-integrated rail planning tools which will easily interface with BNSF’s existing gate technologies and mainframe system. Its advanced rail functionality will enable BNSF to track containers, trailers, chassis, rail cars, and other assets in a graphical, user-friendly environment. In addition, Spinnaker’s intuitive user interface will enable BNSF to improve data accuracy and maximize efficiency in operations.
“We selected Tideworks Technology for our pilot because of their terminal operating system experience in stacking operations and because they are easy to do business with,” said Paul Duncan, BNSF director, Hub and Facility Systems Support.
BNSF will also deploy Traffic Control, an advanced module of the Spinnaker Planning Management System. Traffic Control provides flexible management tools, intuitive user interfaces and advanced system administration technologies to optimize operational efficiency and further increase ROI.
“Tideworks is excited and honored to be selected to participate in BNSF’s pilot program at its Alliance Intermodal Facility,” said Michael Schwank, president of Tideworks. “BNSF has an extensive network and a long history of providing innovative and outstanding transportation services. We look forward to working with such a highly regarded organization and helping them increase overall efficiency.”
The project implementation is scheduled for the third quarter of 2009.
