KYOCERA to Showcase Innovative Solar Electric Energy Solutions at Solar Power International 2008 Trade Show

KYOCERA to demonstrate diverse product line including high-efficiency back-contact multicrystalline silicon solar modules

SAN DIEGO--()--Kyocera Solar, Inc. announced today that it will introduce and exhibit a group of innovative new products at the Solar Power International (SPI) 2008 trade show October 14-16 at the San Diego Convention Center. SPI, the largest solar show in the U.S., provides an opportunity for Kyocera to demonstrate its record-setting, high-efficiency, multicrystalline solar modules.

The company will use Solar Power International to introduce its most powerful module to date, the 220-watt back-contact model as well as the all-black, back-contact, black back-sheet 187-watt module. Also on display will be MyGen, Kyoceras complete residential photovoltaic system that includes modules, inverter, racking and electrical connections. Kyoceras highly durable G-Frame modules that are ruggedized for extreme weather conditions and have a universal standardized frame will complete the show.

The size and scope of Solar Power International illustrates the rapid growth of the industry, a trend that Kyocera is experiencing, stated Steve Hill, president of Kyocera Solar, Inc. We are currently expanding our Tijuana manufacturing facility to meet increasing demand for solar panels. By March 2012, our global solar output will reach 650 megawatts (MW), a significant increase from Kyoceras output of 207 MW in 2007.

Kyocera will debut a 1,600 square foot booth, number 513, to showcase its innovative solar electric energy solutions.

Recognizing SPIs importance to the solar industry, Kyocera is one of the events top sponsors, supporting the event at the Gigawatt level. Kyocera will co-host a sponsor party during SPIs Block Party celebration on Tuesday, October 14, with San Diego Gas & Electric and California Center for Sustainable Energy.
