Technology with Fun Factor – Hong Kong Electronic Trends At IFA 2008
BASLE, Switzerland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hong Kong is one of the most important markets in the world for electronic products. In order to show their latest products and developments of the electronics industry, 49 Hong Kong companies will attend the IFA 2008 from August 29 to September 3. They are represented on the 729m² joint stand in Hall 30, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). 18 companies will be exhibiting in the STYLE HONG KONG gallery and show brand name products that are outstanding both in quality and design.
The high entertainment factor of the "Mi Jam Pro Air Drummer“ by Blue Box International (Stand 454) adds to the enthusiasm with which it is received. This wireless drum set works by means of movement sensors that replace the usual drum pads. Using only drumsticks and pedal, drummers can practise their grooves as if on a complete drum kit. A combination of playful component and technological innovation: With amusing movements, light signals and sound effects, "PC Gizmo” informs users of the receipt of e-mails – the dancing loudspeaker "Wassup“ moves in time to music from the MP3-player.
Internet radio products, such as those produced by Kenwin Industrial (Stand 350), are becoming ever more popular. The company produces appliances with a docking station for the iPod and CD player, that can also be combined with MP3 players, providing consumers a wide range of options.
The search for ever greater mobility is a trend in the electronics industry. The waterproof BD9816 loudspeaker by Eric Beare Associates (Stand 457) has a diameter of 14 cm and a range of up to 100 metres. It is well suited to relaxed listening to music in the bath or shower. Acoustic Arc International (Stand 351) is also showing headphones that work by cable-free Bluetooth technology.
For many years now, Hong Kong's electronic industry has shown a steady growth. In 2007, Hong Kong manufacturers exported goods worth US$ 173 billion (+11.1%) throughout the world. Especially consumer electronics from Hong Kong are very much in demand. In the first six months of 2008, Hong Kong exported audio-visual products worth US$ 16.5 billion (+7%).
