MetaLINCS Introduces E-Discovery

First Pass Processing Now Available as an Appliance and Managed Service

Roll the Appliance in and Begin Culling and Deduplicating Massive Amounts of Data Within an Hour

International Legal Technology Association Conference
Booth #516

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MetaLINCS, a Seagate Technology (NYSE:STX) company, and leader in intelligent, enterprise-class E-Discovery technology, today announced MetaLINCS First Pass Processing available as an appliance and managed service at the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) conference in Dallas, TX. The new offerings join a rapidly growing set of MetaLINCS E-Discovery options for customers to use to accomplish both initial culling and deduplication of electronically stored data as well as advanced processing, review, analysis and production. Fast, thorough and economical, MetaLINCS First Pass Processing is able to handle the culling and deduplication of terabytes of data while simultaneously preparing the data for future analysis, review and production.

MetaLINCS is promoting the First Pass Processing managed service by offering 50 GB of raw data processed for free for the first 50 law firms, corporations and regulatory agencies who sign up at the MetaLINCS booth # 516 at the ILTA conference. All free processing must occur within 60 days of the contract date.

MetaLINCS First Pass Processing gives customers the ultimate flexibility in how they handle their initial reduction of electronically stored data. The appliance version is ideal for IT departments in that you can simply roll it in and have the appliance processing within an hour. The managed services option provides a convenient and efficient way to handle peak workload, commented Ramon Nuñez, president of the MetaLINCS business unit of Seagate Services.

Based on MetaLINCS' world leading content analyses technology, First Pass Processing accurately culls and fully deduplicates all data including attachments within emails reducing the total amount by up to 80%. Automatic culling criteria blocks executable file types and system files in the NIST database, and further culling can be done with easy to run scripts that remove documents based on keywords and other search criteria. MetaLINCS' world class concept analysis technology can be further applied to the data to analyze it by concepts, people, threads and topic clusters. When the customer is finished culling unneeded documents, the remaining relevant subset can be exported to a review tool of the customers choice, sent to MetaLINCS for hosted review, or the customer can obtain an upgrade license key, leave the data in the First Pass Processing appliance, and begin flagging the data and preparing it for review.

MetaLINCS First Pass Processing is the most advanced in the industry:

  • Minimizes the dataset to the greatest degree possible prior to full processing and review
  • Integrated processing, analysis and review capability allow immediate advancement to the next phase of E-Discovery
  • Available as an appliance, software or a managed service
  • Direct access to leading repositories and archives with our standard connectors.
  • Access to other repositories with custom connectors
  • Flexible use options allow you to use MetaLINCS First Pass Processing internally and send the culled dataset to MetaLINCS for full processing and hosting
  • MetaLINCS Client Services are available to help take full advantage of the analysis capabilities and prepare for review
